So, you have all been looking at our first post here, where we explain we are comparing the Radley Walk in the Woods official release to the Radley Walk in the Woods Prototype.

Now to look at the differences. Did you find them all?

The differences that we’ve noted on close examination are:

The colour of the internal lining is different.

The design on the wellies and the feet are in a different position.

The coat stitching on the arms is different.

The girl doesn’t have a ponytail on the prototype. (thanks to Lisa Miller for that one)

The colour of the shopping bag.

Radley is smaller on the release and has left muddy paw prints on the path on the prototype.

The hat has no peak, and is smaller on the prototype.

The bird is a different colour.

There are bird foot prints in the grass on the prototype and there are more leaves on the release bag.

The hand holding the stick is open on the prototype.

The dog tag with the prototype has a simple leather strap, the released version has a dedicated dog tag holder, and the dogtag is a different colour.

Many colour changes between the prototype and the released bag:
The sky is cream on the prototype and blue in the release.
The foreground has additional brown sections on the left and right on the release.
The trees, both painted and applique are different shades.
The path is straight on the prototype and weaves on the release bag.

The leather join on side is different.

The Radley embossed on the rear is smaller on the prototype.

Conclusion:

It’s been really interesting to compare these bags and wonder what the reasons are for some of the design changes.  We prefer some details on the prototype like the shopping bag and bird, but overall the released bag does look better.
